White guilt is absurd.

Simple essay. Informal version, unstructured. Draft.

I've always hated the concept of anyone feeling or being held responsible for what someone else did.

White people have been one of the first people to abolish slavery. A thing that still exists until this day.

But I'm going to focus on this thing simply for the moment.

Should I or you be responsible for what our parents, siblings, grandparents or other distant relatives did?

Why?

It makes no sense. Africans sold Africans. People complain about the United States... but rarely see which country did the most slave transportation during that time (it was Portugal, and from the 26%~ that the British owned — 10%~ was taken to the USA, most were sent to the Caribbean. Also, Portugal took 80 years longer to ban slavery than Britain... and they started earlier, in 1444.)

Seeing a lot of white people being held guilty for things they didn't do... It's not like all of them were able to own slaves back then too. Yet for some reason, they've been made to feel that way.

I still play that video in my head of that crowd of white people bowing down to a few black people in front of them... it was PAINFUL to see.

Ugh... what made it worst is that it was during the time of BLM, for that **thing** that threatened a pregnant woman and was filled with so many substances... But this is another topic for later (in summary: I don't think most black people — specifically black men — would want someone like him to represent them as a community nor as an individual. I'd be beyond disgusted if someone like that were to represent me or what I'm supposed to be! - Also, who can scream from the top of their lungs for over 5 minutes?...)
